Why Paper Liners and Sacks
Paper is made from cultivated trees, a renewable resource which helps in the control of Greenhouse gases by absorbing carbon dioxide and giving off oxygen for the whole life of the tree, some 70 years. Young trees give off more oxygen and absorb more Carbon Dioxide than older trees The harvesting of trees is carefully managed and controlled to ensure the natural growth of the forest. Trees create a stable environment for the local flora and fauna by protecting against soil erosion, giving shade and preventing wind damage.
Paper has a low environmental impact compared to the life cycle of alternative materials. Paper is part of nature’s eternal recycling system. When composted, all valuable elements are returned to nature. It is vital that forests are maintained to provide a natural habitat for wildlife. For every tree that is felled more new trees are planted. Different generations of trees in a managed forest ensure the life of the wood and the world continues.
A natural solution
-
Paper is from a renewable
resource – trees
-
Only softwoods from
Scandinavian forests are used – not hardwood from rain
forests
-
Both paper and sacks are
environmentally certified
-
All paper used is from
cultivated forests which absorb carbon dioxide and give off
oxygen - this is not achieved in the manufacture of any
alternative sack
-
All paper used is from a
fully approved Forestry Stewardship Council resource
-
The paper we use is made from
tree flakes from parts of the tree that would otherwise be
wasted and from process waste from the timber industry
-
Paper presents a sound
environmental case which any form of “plastic” fails to do
-
Printing on the sacks can be
clear, informative and promotional
