Small
paper sacks are a sustainable choice for the separate
collection of food waste, either for use in a kitchen
caddy or as a stand alone container. The paper sack
biodegrades completely along with the contents.
More and
more councils and companies are using paper sacks because
they are environmentally friendly, add structure to the compost and
help with the Carbon:Nitrogen balance. Importantly they cannot be
confused with any 'plastic type' sack.
Louise Howsam, founder
of Biosack Limited, said: "I was becoming increasingly frustrated
by the smell and mess in my Wheeled Bin and Kitchen Caddy. As a busy
mother I could not afford the time or cost to keep washing these out
and I knew the obvious answer was a liner. The problem was finding a
liner that I was confident in and that I could trust to be
genuinely compostable. Ecosack liners not only had the right
environmental credentials but they also made a huge and practical
improvement for me at home.
